Positive Environmental Impact
We provide alternatives to the purchase of new office furniture by allowing customers to fully utilize their current office furniture assets by extending their usable life cycle.
The following are just some examples of how you can make a positive impact on the environment by utilizing Renewed Environments solutions:
Conserve Natural Resources
Renewed Environments furniture extends the life of resources already in circulation, including wood, metal and plastics via recycling. Fewer raw materials are used to produce a finished product that meets the quality level you would expect from a comprehensive remanufacturing process.
Solid Waste Reduction
An estimated 3 million tons of office furniture is discarded each year. By remanufacturing office furniture and office furniture components, existing inventory is diverted from the solid waste stream. Utilizing solutions from Renewed Environments results in fewer products filling up limited landfill space.
By reusing existing material, the energy consumed during the production of new office furniture is eliminated, including the metal smelting process. Remanufacturing existing products uses 85% to 90% less labor and energy than is required to manufacture new products.
The emission of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur oxides, volatile organic compounds and particulate matter are all reduced by remanufacturing your office furniture. By reducing the amounts of these contaminants we can help reduce global warming, acid rain and smog.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™ from the U.S Green Building Council encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
Renewed Environments can help in the achievement of LEED® certification while simultaneously providing companies with the office furniture and workplace solutions they require.
Our LEED AP certified specialists have an advanced depth of knowledge in green building practices. From refurbishing your existing inventory of office furniture to acquiring and utilizing an inventory of pre-owned office furniture to providing new products built with environmentally friendly components that are easily recyclable, we will work with you to acquire the points available to achieve your LEED® certified building goals.
